The Company

Tan Heong San Imp & Exp. Lda. of Macau (THS), consists of Tan Heong San, an established coffee-roasting and tea-blending business, founded in 1950, Fabrica de Bebidas Honolulu, a producer of water-cress and chrysanthemum honey and a number of Specialty Coffee outlets.

Our Company is an importer of green coffee from all over the world. The coffees are roasted, blended and packaged as finished products. Clients in Macau include Chain Hotels, Casinos, Restaurants, Coffee Shops as well as local Coffee Houses and Tai Pai Dong. In Hong Kong, our clients are mainly Wholesalers, Coffee Wholesaling Companies, Chain Coffee Shops and some End users. We will continue to strengthen our market in Hong Kong and develop our market in China. The recent emergence of CEPA makes our marketing in China easier, as the mport Duty has already been lifted. Most of our production of Syrups are exported to Hong Kong.

With the enormous efforts that our staffs have dedicated, our Company has succeeded in passing the ISO9001:2000 Quality Management System Certification Assessment conducted by SGS in 2001, thus enabling our Management and Production team to make one Big Step Forward targeting at attaining perfection of the Management System of our Company in order that the needs of our clients could be met to lead to their eventual Full Satisfaction. Coffee Processing Machines

THS is dedicated to ensuring exceptional quality of its coffee and this is exactly why first rate coffee-roasting machines, such as Probat of Germany and Trabattonni of Italy, are used. Even so, staffs encounter much difficulty in maintaining the consistency of the quality of roasts, such as flavour, aroma and colour, albeit their experience. In the light of this, a computer system is installed to monitor the complete roasting process of the beans in accordance to recent scientific researches which determine the optimal roasting temperatures and duration at specific atmospheric pressures, densities and environment temperatures.

We have also introduced a new processing machine to separate tiny foreign matters from the roasted coffees. The foreign matters mainly come the green coffees which are dry processed and dried on floors. The objective of using this equipment is to eliminate all these foreign matters that may damage the grinder of espresso machines when brewing.

Coffee Varieties

Courtesy of our longstanding relationship with the world-renowned bean suppliers, THS has a competitive edge in securing a steady supply of high-quality coffee beans. Coffees we carry are Jamaican Blue Mountain, Hawaiian Kona, Brazil Bourbon Santos, Colombian Supremo, Costa Rican Sarchi, Guatemala Antigua, Indian Monsoon Malabar, Sumatra Mandheling, Ethiopian Yergachaffe, Ethiopian Sidamo and Ethiopian Mocha Limu, Decaffeinated Colombian, and so on. Thus, THS is in a strong position to maintain a reliable production capacity at the most competitive price to meet any sudden surge in demand of customers.

We are also approved by the Coffee Industry Board of the Jamaican Government as an Importer of their Coffees. Note that their Blue Mountain Grade A coffee could not be sold to any company without their prior approval.

Black Tea

Sri Lanka is famed for the quality of its black tea and there are no other countries, which are matchable to it, both in terms of its quality control and consistency of supply. For this very reason, THS blends teas originating from Sri Lanka only. By direct import, it enables us to supply our customers with teas of the best quality and the most competitive price. We are establishing channels with Sri Lanka Top Quality Tea Estates from the Dimbula Region in order that a more high quality and consistent supply of tea could be achieved.

The Herbal Syrup Division

Fabrica de Bebidas Honolulu, being part of Tan Heong San Imp & Exp. Lda., produces water-cress and chrysanthemum syrups. Unlike our rivals, our manufacturing division is fully automated from the actual production of the syrup to bottling and capping. This ensures that our production maintains a high standard, especially its hygiene, to which much importance is attached.

The “Fig Concentrate” - This consists of Pure Fig Juice developing a special Natural Romantic Aroma. All contents of the Product are natural and No Colouring and Flavouring is added to the Juice. This is a drink popular among the Portuguese and Macanese Community in Macau.
The Tangerine Tea – This concentrate is made of a blend of Tangerine fruit and other fruits to come up with a new syrup with a sourly tone. Again all contents of the Product are natural and No Colouring and Flavouring is added to the Juice.This gives a superb drink good for drinking and at the same time heeling and soothing sour throats.

Dining service

We established and managed the dining industry in 1997; our goal is to make all the coffee in our self-own factory with specialized knowledge. At present we have managed many professional coffee stores in Macau , it proved that our clients satisfy the coffee. Since the Portuguese drink coffees in Macau for many years, has been reflected the quality of coffees are guaranteed. The Portuguese food and coffee product are similar success; so the development in Macau is ideal. The first coffee shop has been established in Guangzhou successfully.

Recent Developments

In the recent, many new hotels are our client already. For the propose of increase production volume, our group have already installed a 60kg coffee roasting machine. The capacity of production increase a lot after the installation and this will help as to solve the problem of short supply.

Also, in our yearly plan, We want to increase the packing capacity of our company, germless space for packing and optimize the environment of the company.
