PRODUCTION

Roasting coffee transforms the chemical and physical properties of green coffee beans into roasted coffee products. The roasting process is what produces the unique flavor of coffee by causing the green coffee beans to expand and to change in COLOR, TASTE, SMELL, and DENSITY. Unroasted beans contain similar acids, protein, and caffeine as those that have been roasted, but lack the most important element of taste.
As green coffee is more stable than roasted, the roasting process is best done close to where it is consumed. This reduces the time that roasted coffee spends in distribution, giving it a longer shelf life. The vast majority of coffee is roasted commercially on a large scale, however here at THS we cater to all of our customer’s coffee needs which includes small batch roasting in order to give more control, characteristics and flavor to our beans.
As one of the oldest and most experienced purveyor’s of coffee, we have overseen the entire process of sorting, roasting, cooling, packaging and even grinding the beans right here in Macau.
